We're seeking someone to join our Application and Data Engineering team as a Sr. BigData Engineering Specialist to build and support the technical delivery of our Data Platform and contribute to the development of reusable tooling/API's, applications, data stores, and software stack to accelerate our relational data warehousing, big data analytics and data management.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Design, build and maintain big data applications to support both on-prem and Cloud based Big Data solutions.
  • Technical delivery of our Data Platform's core functionality and strategic solutions.
  • Be responsible for designing and developing strategic solutions that utilize big data, cloud and other modern technologies in order to meet our constantly changing business requirement.
  • Day-to-day management of several small development teams focused on our Big Data platform and Data management applications.
  • Collaboration and co-ordination with multiple stake holders like Hadoop Data Engineering Team, Application teams and Unix Ops Team to ensure the stability of our Big Data platform.


What you'll bring to the role:

  • At least 6 years of software development experience in JVM based languages (Scala preferably or Java).
  • Experience in middleware technologies, Unix, Web Protocols, security, cloud services and containerization.
  • Experience of Service Oriented Architecture, Distributed Computing and DevOps.
  • Strong expertise in automation / scripting using Python, Ansible, Shell.
  • Clear understanding and hands-on experience of Database and Compute platforms (both relational and unstructured) including but not limited to Hadoop, Postgres, MS*SQL, AZ-SQL, DB2 Apache Spark and PySpark.
  • Working knowledge of observability tools based on open telemetry like Prometheus, Loki, Grafana etc.
  • Advanced understanding of business line and discipline with some knowledge of competitive environment and other disciplines.
