Your Role as Educational Supervisor
- Support High-Quality Instruction - Oversee the planning and execution of developmentally appropriate lessons that align with Rebecca School's educational philosophy. Guide curriculum development and ensure the implementation of meaningful, individualized learning experiences for students.
- Coach & Supervise Teaching Staff - Provide weekly individual and group supervision to teachers, including classroom visits, performance evaluations, and support for instructional planning. Serve as a mentor and coach to promote professional growth and effective teaching strategies.
- Foster Collaboration & Communication - Plan and facilitate meetings with classroom teams to address planning, student needs, and team dynamics. Act as a liaison between teachers and families to support classroom success and resolve academic concerns.
- Lead & Participate in School-Wide Initiatives - Attend and contribute to team meetings, Greenspan meetings, staff development sessions, and other professional training opportunities. Supervise field trips and support ongoing DIR training in classrooms.
- Ensure Accountability & Growth - Review weekly lesson plans, ensure assessments are completed to evaluate student developmental levels, and support teachers in setting effective, functional goals. Maintain strong professional relationships and promote a culture of growth and excellence.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Special Education
- New York State Teacher Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a school or therapeutic clinical setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with students with neurodevelopmental delays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the DIRFloortime Model
- Bilingual proficiency
