Mission or Goal of Unit: Themission of the Division of Urology within the VCU Department of Surgery is thepursuit of excellence in all three areas of an academic surgical practice:teaching, research, and patient care. The Division of Urology is dedicated to the pursuit of diversity in allaspects of our division, including faculty, residents, and staff.
Chief Purpose of the Position: The Department of Surgery, Division of Urology is recruiting for an open rank, term, non-tenured track faculty position in the area of urology.The candidate will primarily provide clinical services at the CMH Campuslocated in South Hill, VA, to include clinic, operative services, and callcoverage.
Teaching
The faculty member is expected to conduct residentgrand rounds 1-2 times per year and attend via zoom 60% of the time.
Research
The faculty member is expected to participate in clinical trials as available.
Service
The faculty member is expected to serve on departmentaland/or health system committees as necessary.
Clinical
The faculty member is expected to build and maintain a busy, patient centeredclinical practice. This includes both inpatient and outpatient management ofall general urological diagnoses and operative procedures.

- Graduation from ACGME accreditedresidency
- Board Certification or Eligibility inUrology
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstratedexperience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and studentenvironment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teachingexperience at the undergraduate or graduate level
- Experience in quality andeducation
