The head of research production/editor is responsible for overseeing the quality and timely delivery of all research documents. This role involves managing the editorial workflow, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a team of editors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial research and editing, with excellent organizational and leadership skills. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to lead our editing/production department, overseeing both day and night editors. In this role, you will manage the flow of our research products, ensuring top-notch quality control while actively participating in the editing process. As the head of research production, you will be responsible for both managing and editing, working alongside a team of committed professionals who thrive on a fast-paced, irregular schedule. Candidates must have or be willing to obtain supervisory analyst (FINRA) accreditation immediately. If you are ready to take on the challenge of driving editorial success, we want to hear from you! More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Ensure quality control by reviewing all research documents for accuracy, clarity, and compliance. This includes checking text, numbers, language, grammar, format, and charts/tables
  • Oversee the daily workflow, including the preview/earnings period, outlooks, and initiation reports. Ensure timely and efficient processing of documents
  • Manage and mentor the editorial team. Focus on improving the quality of their work, minimizing stress, and providing training on functions in Word and Excel. Recommend relevant articles and resources for professional development
  • Maintain familiarity with the BlueMatrix back end to ensure smooth operation and integration of research documents

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of nine years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Advanced experience in financial research and editing
  • Advanced experience with regulatory requirements and compliance standards
  • Advanced experience in equity research, credit analysis, or financial journalism
  • Supervisory analyst (FINRA) accreditation immediately or be willing to obtain
  • Expert proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Expert knowledge of BlueMatrix or other publishing platform
  • Proven track record in managing a team(s) and producing high-quality written reports/product
  • Advanced understanding of capital markets, including securities
  • Available to work irregular hours
