The Lead Tech Business Analysis act as a liaison/Product Owner Delegate between business stakeholders and delivery teams, systematically gathering and documenting requirements/user stories to ensure alignment with business needs and successful project delivery.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and maintain detailed business and technical requirements (Waterfall methodology) or user stories (Agile methodology).
- Stakeholder Communication and Liaison: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear understanding, alignment of project goals, and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Validation, Verification, and Quality Assurance: Coordinate and participate in testing and UAT activities to ensure requirements/user stories are accurately implemented and final deliverables meet business requirements and quality standards.
- Change and Risk Management: Manage changes to requirements/user stories, assess their impact on project scope, timeline, and resources, and identify and mitigate related risks.
- Project Planning and Continuous Improvement: Assist in project planning activities, such as creating timelines and resource allocation plans, while continuously seeking opportunities to improve requirements management/user stories processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (IT, business, or a related area), preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, and strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, potentially with certifications like CBAP or PMI-PBA.
- Demonstrated expertise in presenting and using planning tools.
- Experience in a specific industry (e.g. Telecommunication) is beneficial
Skills:
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership Skills: As a lead, you'll need to guide and motivate a team, requiring strong leadership and project management skills.
- Business Acumen: A solid understanding of business principles and processes is necessary to effectively analyze and solve business problems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant technologies, tools, and methodologies is important.
- Data Analysis: Experience with data analysis techniques, database management (e.g., SQL), and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
- Process Modeling: Understanding and applying process modeling techniques (e.g. BPMN) is a core competency.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams is essential.
Certifications (Optional but Recommended):
- CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional): IIBA (International Institute of Business Analysis) certification.
- PMI-PBA (PMI's Professional Business Analysis): PMI (Project Management Institute) certification.
