General work days and hours fall within Monday - Friday and hours of 7am - 5pm with occasional work outside these hours as needed. Primary location for this role will be Advocate Trinity Hospital with occasional travel to other sites within the organization.
Supports the development and implementation of evidence based simulation education at Advocate Aurora sites. They will partner with faculty in all steps of curriculum design from needs assessment to program evaluation. Reporting to the Manager System Simulation the position will provide leadership in establishing and achieving simulation-based education that aligns with strategic organizational outcomes and improves patient safety and outcomes. They will be involved in creating, implementing and evaluating simulation lab and in situ based simulations for an inter-professional learner audience.

Major Responsibilities:
- Facilitates simulation based curriculum that promotes safety, quality and service.
- Develops, leads and/or delivers simulation based education based on learning objectives utilizing adult learning principles.
- Provides site leadership in simulation based learning.
- Collects data and evaluates the effectiveness of simulation based training.
- Consults with site team members and utilizes available data to identify educational gaps where simulation would be value added.
- Provides coaching and feedback to facilitators, instructors and learners as appropriate.
- Maintains technical expertise for operation and trouble shooting of simulation equipment.
- Manages internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Acts as a member of the Advocate Aurora Academy to develop comprehensive system wide learning strategies, ensuring simulation is represented in our direction and priorities.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Education Required:
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Master's Degree in Education.
- Master's Degree in Organizational Development or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in a clinical setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Role may require Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible with changing priorities.
- Demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Ability to travel to various Advocate Aurora Health facilities.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to move equipment and learning materials (up to 50lbs).
- Exposed to a normal office environment
- Position requires travel and exposure to road and weather hazards.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
