The Samsung global services team is responsible for driving Smart TV and mobile services businesses by building intelligent, integrated, cross-platform services that delight and entertain users.
Samsung TV Plus is the go-to service for free, premium entertainment that allows content owners and advertisers to engage consumers at scale. As a leader in free ad-supported TV (FAST) and video-on-demand (AVOD), Samsung TV Plus is the #1 free ad-supported app on Samsung Smart TVs, with over 3,000 ad-supported linear channels available across 30 territories and over 630M active devices, Samsung TV Plus is exclusively available across Samsung TV, Galaxy, Smart Monitor, and Family Hub lineups."
As the Sr. Director of Strategy Operations & Planning for TV Plus, you will play a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. This newly created role requires a mix of attention to detail, financial modeling acumen, strategic thinking, and media domain expertise. TV Plus is in the midst of an exciting period of growth and development, and seeks an experienced leader to contribute during this critical phase.
Objective
Reporting directly to the SVP of Global Samsung TV Plus. As the Sr. Director of Strategy Operations, Planning will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives and business planning efforts. This includes optimizing operational processes, and driving organizational vision and growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and exceptional analytical skills.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, solutions-focused, with the ability to unravel complexity, navigate the organization, come to a quick understanding of the needs of the business, and drive close collaboration with all areas of the business globally.

Compensation for this role, for candidates based in Los Angeles, LA, is expected to be between $275,000 ~ $320,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.

Planning and Operations
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine the overall strategic direction, ensuring alignment with the company's broader goals and objectives.
- Serve as a strategic thought leader to develop and implement comprehensive plans to drive organizational growth and operational efficiency across the Samsung TV Plus global team.
- Independently prepare presentations and documents for internal and external meetings, including leadership workshops.
- Conduct in-depth P&L analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Track key performance indicators and analyze trends to support nimble decision making
- Collaborate with Finance team to enhance and streamline partner financial reportin
Resource Planning
- Lead management for the organization across all major sites including: US, Europe, India, Korea, etc) and categories (financial strategy, headcount, infrastructure, etc.)
- Lead creation of annual budget by collaborating with functional leaders
- Utilize historical data and industry trends to forecast future revenues and expenses
- Produce comprehensive financial reports for management including content spend ROI, margin analysis, and budget variance analysis
- Oversee talent management and hiring process in close partnership with HR and Talent Acquisition teams, including discussions and decision-making about optimal functional distributions and trade-offs.
- Monitor and evaluate resource utilization and project progress to ensure effective use of resources. Identify resource gaps or challenges and develop future org plans and budgets accordingly.
Project Management
- Manage the planning and review process of team Management by Objectives (MBOs).
- Establish goals around Objective Key Results (OKRs) and other metrics to measure the success of strategic initiatives, and monitor them proactively.
- Prepare regular reports and executive-level presentations to communicate financial performance, strategic recommendations, progress, and performance updates to senior management.
- Provide financial modeling support for ad-hoc strategic projects
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in strategy, business operations, or management consulting roles
- 10+ years experience in investment banking, management consulting, or media/tech finance/strategy/operations
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills. This person will interact with senior executives
- This person will lead a team of strategic, planning and operation focused team members
- Exceptional quantitative, financial modeling, and problem solving skills
- Ability to thrive and multitask in a constantly evolving environment
- Self-starter with an insatiable will to get stuff done
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making
- Unparalleled organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple, competing projects and priorities under tight deadlines
- Exceptional leadership with strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Passion and knowledge of the video streaming market especially FAST/AVOD
- Experience in managing global team and projects
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertain situations, and drive clarity
- Outstanding interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills that help influence and work well with all levels within the organization
- Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
