We are seeking a dynamic, innovative individual with strong leadership qualities and a focus on excellence. As a member of the Interprofessional Practice & Education Program, the Digital Learning Technology Specialist will design and develop interactive learning and multimedia tools that facilitate engaging and effective learning experiences for online learners. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Professional Practice team and the subject matter experts to ensure that digital tools and content presentation align with the learning objectives and promote an effective and engaging learning experience, contributing to a strong hospital-wide professional practice environment.

Standard work schedule is 0830-1630 hrs, Monday-Friday. Schedule is subject to change based on operational demands & flexibility to accommodate extended hours, evenings, and weekends is occasionally required in this leadership role.

What we are looking for:

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Professional Practice team and the subject matter experts to ensure that digital tools and content presentation align with the learning objectives and promote an effective and engaging learning experience, contributing to a strong hospital-wide professional practice environment.
What you bring to the role:
- Successful completion of a post secondary degree program in Media Design, Information and Learning Technologies or related disciplines
- Adult Education certificate or training (e.g. CTDP) including knowledge of digital teaching and training principles
- Experienced in instructional design, program development, and evaluation required
- A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in training and development or in the creative media industry, including experience developing and evaluating learning technologies and applications, using HTML, CCS, JavaScript and different multimedia authoring tools and learning and management applications.
- Experience with storyboarding and media design technology including Vyond, Camtasia, Articulate 360 Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Extensive experience with RISE and Storyline a must.
- Knowledge of SCORM compliant content for eLearning and mobile learning, and be familiar with gamification trends within a professional environment.
- Demonstrated ability to design effective content presentation using a range of applications while ensuring all learning technologies and tools used comply with Universal Design for Learning and AODA principles.
- A proactive approach to learning new technologies, teach/train others in the selection and use of various tools and technologies
- Ability to identify, review and recommend digital learning resources to include in eLearning initiatives.
- Excellent oral, written communication and facilitation skills including presentations, report writing, developing, designing and facilitating training.
- Strong attention to detail when creating and reviewing content
- Demonstrated ability to work productively and successfully with diverse people and groups
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work proactively with limited direction
- The most promising candidates will be asked to provide a portfolio that demonstrates their technical and creative design and development skills in digital media and eLearning
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
- Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
