Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Facilities Central Engineering is seeking an individual as the Global Engineering lead for Chemical & Slurry Systems. This role will provide technical leadership for current and future chemical & slurry infrastructure and operations. The technical leadership role will support and collaborate with the operational engineering teams across all of the GF Fabs for best-in-class solutions for operational cost, reliability, and alignment where appropriate, for critical specification and process setpoints. Additionally, the central engineer will drive the implementation of change and provide hands-on support for business case analyses for capital requests. They will fully engage with the site operational problem resolution and implementation of global preventive measures. They will be required to develop in-depth knowledge of each site's systems as an essential part of the role. This position is located at one of the Company's Fab sites (Malta NY, Burlington Vt, Dresden Germany, or Woodland campus Singapore).

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Lead global efforts to optimize cost, reduce risk, and increase reliability for each system, aligning where appropriate (Benchmarking, optimized / Best Known methods, implementation/ execution) for chemical & slurry infrastructure.
  • Become knowledgeable of the design, facilitation, operation, and maintenance of chemical & slurry systems on each site.
  • Champion and support the sites on system operations, maintenance excellence through benchmarking and alignment/deployment on best-in-class methodologies including efficiency and supporting work with AME, suppliers and Quality as needed.
  • Lead and provide direct support for FMEA, 8D Route cause analysis, and SPC for systems, ensuring alignment/consistency across sites.
  • Champion site capital request requirements (Globally) from business case analysis through approval.
  • Identify and pursue future technologies that enable improved cost, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Build relationships with internal partners including site operations teams, finance, construction, Quality, procurement teams to ensure business/tool needs and requirements are met.
  • Provide management report out on the status of ongoing projects, global activities, and key Chemical/Global team activities.
  • Actively drive/participate in Central Engineering team initiatives including risk reduction, benchmarking, and financial monitoring/performance.
  • Provide overview chemical plant operations to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards globally with a focus on energy efficiency.


Other Responsibilities:

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with relevant experience in engineering field.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years' experience in the semiconductor industry in facilities or manufacturing engineering position or Operations and with maintenance of Chemical and Slurry Systems.
  • Skills: Dynamic, resourceful self-starter with good analytical, organizational, leadership skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Business knowledge of ROI and Capital request processes.
  • Experienced in using structured problem-solving techniques and lean tools.
  • Good Team Player & leader.
  • Excellent communicator for both technical and leadership roles in the organization, written and oral.
  • Available and willing to flex work hours as needed to support a Global organization.
  • Ability to travel internationally 2-4 times per year based on business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
  • Fluency in English Language - written & verbal.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in chemical engineering.
  • Strong leadership, planning & organizational skills.
  • Semiconductor manufacturing or operational experience.


Expected Salary Range
$79,100.00 - $145,800.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
