Nemours is seeking a Manager, Clinical Applications (Inpatient), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in either Wilmington, Delaware or Orlando, Florida.
This is a hybrid position (both onsite and remote).
The manager of the Epic Inpatient Team is responsible for the daily oversight of enterprise Clinical Applications to ensure the optimal use of mission critical systems that enable Nemours to deliver excellent patient care. This role will support the Epic Inpatient Team and their applications including Clin Doc, Inpatient Orders, Clinical Case Management, Bugsy, Monitor, and Rover. Through the development, testing, training, integrating, implementation, maintenance, optimization and support of the EHR. This role would include application planning and team management of analysts responsible for the assigned applications. Provide technical support Enterprise wide, to the Nemours Clinical and non clinical staff. Lead the efforts of the application team. Collaborate with the organization's staff, vendors, IT colleagues and other stakeholders to identify user requirements, access available applications and technologies, develop detailed specifications, and evaluate and recommend solution options. Act as oversight to EHR implementation for the functional areas and work with clinical steering committees towards this goal. Effectively participates in leadership discussions to develop departmental goals, standards, policies and project prioritization, including budgeting and resource planning. Responsible for one or more department/accounting unit, program/services or projects.

- Understands the organization's business goals and objectives, and client clinical needs. Knows how to use IT processes to ensure appropriate solutions are implemented. Contribute to the development of annual application strategies, budgets and plans.
- Maintains a current detailed understanding of strategic business initiatives and how they relate to organizational goals and objectives. Ensures that as projects are implemented, the organization's strategic initiatives are among the constant drivers and project guidelines.
- Demonstrates strong multitasking skills displaying the ability to manage staff, many tasks and daily operation. Responsible for ensuring excellent customer service. Provide direction to Senior Application Analysts and Application Analysts.
- Manage project resources, both human and monetary. Identify resources short falls and communicates with Director. Make recommendations for staffing changes or enhancements where appropriate. Allocate project resources appropriately for cost effective implementations and application utilization.
- Organizes, facilitates, and coordinates the activities of multiple project teams in collaboration with operational and informatics work groups and leadership.
- Develop, direct and manage initiatives that promote safe and effective utilization of the electronic medical record enterprise wide.
- Manages all activities relating to associate hiring, promotion, counseling, payroll, orientation and certification for multiple teams.
- Serves as content expert and liaison to operations in providing a safe, high quality electronic medical record.
- Reviews internal surveys and audits to maintain quality of service provided and compliance with standards.
- Conducts root cause analysis for complex clinical issues and recommends enterprise solutions for bridging performance gaps.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of analyst level experience supporting healthcare systems, including user software support or clinical department applications support required.
- Epic certification required.
