Physician:
Cougar Health Services (CHS) physicians provide primary care for WSU students. Providing care in the college health setting requires competence in general medicine, gender affirming care, sports medicine, trauma, infectious diseases including sexually transmitted infections, minor surgical skills, dermatology, mental health, sexual health and psychosocial medicine using current standards of care. Physician practices within the scope of their board-certification to prescribe, place, and provide contraceptive products and be a resource for students seeking family planning options in a primary care clinic. Care includes educating patients which may include counseling about family planning, sexual health, and reproductive medicine. Professionalism, teamwork, preventive care, patient education and cost-effective practice styles are valued. Physicians also support CHS and the university through non-clinical work when requested.
Advanced Practice Professional -
Cougar Health Services (CHS) Advanced Practice Professional provides primary care for WSU students. This practice requires competence in general medicine, gynecology, sports medicine, trauma, infectious disease including STD's, dermatology, psycho-social medicine, and as applicable womens' health using current standards of care. Local and regional specialists are available for referral as needed. Patients needing counseling may be referred to WSU Counseling & Psychological Services, to the staff psychiatrist or to other community mental health professionals. In all interactions preventive care, patient education and cost effective practice styles are valued.

Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime exempt.
Monthly Salary:
Physician: $17,453 - $21,669 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Advanced Practice Professional: $10,208 - $12,673 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Physician -
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice. Must possess, or be able to obtain by time of hire, licensure as a doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) by the State of Washington.
- M.D. / D.O. degree; board eligible or board certified in a primary care specialty.
- DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) certification in the state of Washington by time of hire.
- Maintains current DEA licensure in the state of Washington at all times.
- Maintains current state of Washington Physician license at all times.
- Maintains current board certification with the national board of specialty area.
- Ability to be credentialed and maintain credentialed status with all contracted insurance providers.
- Obtains and maintains CHS clinical privileges.
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Advanced Practice Professional -
- A State of Washington Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license, prescriptive authority and National Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
- Two (2) years of experience in a primary care setting.
- A State of Washington Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License at the time of hire.
- Must possess prescriptive authority at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Physician -
- Three (3) years of experience in a primary care setting.
- Electronic Medical Record Training.
- College health experience.
Advanced Practice Professional -
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with primary care specialty.
- Four (4) years' relevant clinical experience in a primary care setting.
- Experience working in a college health care environment.
