Job Description Summary
This rotors buyer (Purchasing Scheduler) is the focal point to lead the development and execution of long-term commodity and materials strategies for Gas Turbine rotor commodities through plan development and execution. As a buyer, you will strategically develop & manage a global supply chain of goods & services to geographically diverse locations, while driving commercial advantage through achievement of quality, cost, usage & delivery goals. The role will evaluate inventory levels and establish re-order systems to improve material availability while aligning orders to customer consumption. This role will work to establish proper visual management driven controls that will trigger appropriate reorder points to ensure proper material availability.

Job Description

This buyer will be transforming the way we procure rotor machine parts from traditional ERP to a re-order point strategy. The buyer will calculate, implement this new strategy, create the tools needed to execute it, and communicate it to the factory and all the suppliers it will impact. Additionally will support sourcing initiatives including lead time reduction, New Product Introduction (NPI), payment terms and cash flow improvements Manage projects in a matrix organization across the globe, including interacting with manufacturing personnel to understand unique supplier requirements of global supply chain business. Interface with the Operations Team, Shop Scheduling, configuration control, Lifecycle Center of Excellence (COE), Service Center Mangers, and other GE organizations as required.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Place and follow-up on POs. Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution. Manage problems and schedule changes. Update ERP.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
  • Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or completion of OMLP program with at least 2 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
  • 2-4 years of experience in materials Purchasing/Buying.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Supplier/Vendor management.
  • 2-4 years of experience in SAP/ERP functions.

The base pay range for this position is $94K - $126K USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 5/3/2025, or thereafter.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
