AVIATION Technician 2- GOLETA CA **2nd Shift Position 1:30 pm to 11:00 pm , working Friday is 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
Handling and managing fragile composite materials.
Bond, prep and bonding of composite structures to metallic fittings.
Notate usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on all adhesive materials used.
Report data and interface with other employees and departments.
Tooling preparation and release application.
Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
Reading and understanding manufacturing blue prints and shop planning
Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness. High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience for this position. FAQ - What is the size of the team I'm expected to work with? The manufacturing tech team between first and second shift will be about 45 employees (33 on 1st shift, 12 on 2nd shift). Product type teams range from 7-10 techs but depending on the tasks asked to work, employees can be asked to work individually or in smaller sub teams. The manufacturing team extends beyond just the techs; working with Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Assurance, and Material Control. This is not a program project hire. We have a large backlog of programs which has increased the headcount requirements. We continue to build that backlog.
