General Job Summary: The responsibility of the SELinux Engineer includes secure software design and development with a focus on SELinux policy integration, technical documentation development, component test development, component test execution, system test derivation, system test execution, and other general software development tasking. Essential Job Functions: The qualifications for an SELinux Engineer include experience in developing SELinux policy against commercial and custom software, knowledge of engineering principles to include technology research and software engineering assignments, experience in the generation of software components following a software development lifecycle, and a bachelors degree in an engineering or scientific discipline. It is essential for the engineer to consider security in all solutions being developed, as the systems Nteligen helps create are highly sensitive in nature. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Minimum of 4 years of experience in programs within the federal government B.S. (or higher) in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related STEM discipline (5 years of work experience in the areas above may be substitutable for a B.S. degree when allowable by certain clients) Experience developing software systems that operate on Enterprise Linux or comparable operating systems. Experience writing SELinux policy Active curiosity around Linux security concepts and mechanisms Experience in performing the full software development life cycle (SDLC) Aware of agile software development concepts. Experience coding in object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python Experience with debugging software Excellent problem-solving skills Familiar with Build Management, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Automated Testing systems Ability to communicate technical concepts in written form. Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
