Description Position Title: Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Instructor Location: Eglin AFB, FL Clearance level required: Secret Responsibilities (including but not limited to) : Instructional Duties * Deliver classroom and practical instruction to military and civilian personnel following the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) standards. * Prepare personalized lesson plans using Government-furnished materials and customize as needed to enhance learning outcomes. * Teach assigned topics effectively, utilizing allocated time and incorporating diverse teaching techniques to maintain student engagement. * Supervise and support students during practical exercises, including hands-on training in laboratory and field environments. * Administer, grade, and review tests and assignments in accordance with NAVEDTRA 130 Series and provide feedback to students. * Conduct academic counseling for students struggling with course content and develop remediation plans to support their progress. Curriculum and Course Maintenance * Monitor and update training materials, including lesson plans, test items, and instructional guides, to ensure technical accuracy and relevance. * Participate in curriculum surveillance, identifying deficiencies in instructional materials and recommending corrective actions. * Support the Formal Course Review process by collaborating with military personnel on curriculum improvement initiatives. Classroom and Equipment Management * Perform daily operational checks of classroom and laboratory equipment to ensure readiness and safety compliance. * Maintain accurate inventories of training aids, devices, and materials, reporting discrepancies promptly. * Ensure the proper setup and availability of all instructional aids and materials before lessons. Safety and Security * Adhere to all safety standards and provide instruction on the safe use of training equipment and facilities. * Enforce compliance with safety procedures among students and report any violations or incidents to leadership. * Maintain security protocols for student records and instructional materials, particularly those subject to Privacy and Disclosure Act guidelines. Reporting and Coordination * Submit daily academic progress reports and absentee reports to Division leadership. * Collaborate with the Technical Assistant (TA) to address curriculum updates, classroom issues, and scheduling changes. * Participate in regular meetings with leadership to coordinate long-term instructional requirements. Qualifications * Contract instructors at NSEOD shall be graduates of a U.S. Armed Forces, EOD Technician NEC, MOS or AFSC producing EOD course taught at NSEOD. Each instructor assigned to NSEOD shall have successfully performed in a US Armed forces active-duty EOD Technician billet for a minimum of six years. * Completion of a military Instructor Training (IT) Course, or equivalent, such as Navy IT Course (CIN: A-012-0077). * Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
