ACCOUNTANT I with Security Clearance

JOB TITLE: ACCOUNT ANT I DEPARTMENT: FINANCE REPORTS TO: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT Job Summary: The Accountant I is responsible for assisting with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting and industry standards and regulations. This entry-level position provides support to the finance team and contributes to the overall financial health of the organization. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets. * Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations. * Process accounts payable and receivable transactions. * Support with travel expense processing * Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. * Maintain accurate and organized financial records. * Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. * Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. * Assist in the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reports. * Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support business operations. * Perform other related duties as assigned. BASIC REQUIRMENTS: * Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. * 0-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the aerospace/manufacturing industry * Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance * Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. * Knowledge of accounting software such as Deltek Costpoint and/or QuickBooks * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Previous internship or work experience in accounting * Self-motivated and proactive mindset with a desire to learn and grow within the organization. * Familiarity with Federal Government Contracting * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
