The core functions of the EMT are: * Provide a full range of EMT services within the MTF and supported geographical area. * Maintain proficiency in the operation of the ambulance radio equipment. * Monitor and operate ambulance radio equipment as required by the circumstances. * Provide the patient with the necessary and appropriate medical care, consistent with ambulance equipment and supplies, and personnel certification, training, and experience during transport. * Control and properly dispose of all medical waste incurred during transport. * Conduct routine restocking, cleaning, and disinfection of the vehicle, equipment, and supplies. Ensure the ambulances are safe to operate, sanitary, and properly functioning. * Document all treatment provided to the patient during the patient transport. * Rapidly stabilizing the patient, according to Advance Life Support (ALS) protocol and EMS written protocols. * Lift, place, and deliver patients to the receiving destinations for medical care. Place patients on monitors, administer needles, IVs, oxygen, or dressings. Carry patient records or baggage/belongings to the destination for patient care. Redress patient's wounds.
