Management Analyst 1 (Strategic Planning) Work Location: Washington, DC Kwaan Tech is seeking a highly qualified Management Analyst 1 to join our team in support of the Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA), Office of the Comptroller (C), Strategic Planning and Policy Division (SPPD). The Management Analyst 1 will play a critical role within the CA/C/SPPD, as part of the Strategic Planning team. The selected candidate will conduct organizational studies and evaluations, design systems and procedures, conduct work simplifications and measurement studies, and prepare operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance. Core Duties: * Serve as Management Analyst and expert on management systems techniques, processes, and technology that will optimize SPPD operations * Analyze administrative processes and/or Division programs * Write reports, letters, and other documents with recommendations for management programs, policies, and activities * Analyze strategic plans and allocations, goals, objectives and sub-objectives, performance measures, and other strategic processes and products * Analyze performance metrics, to include indicators which can be used to assess performance of programs * Assist in the creation or update of a central repository of strategic planning information to be used for Performance Reporting * Oversee the preparation of various recurring reports such as monthly, quarterly, cumulative semi-annual, and cumulative annual reports of use of travel services * Provide technical guidance and assistance to staff in the review of documents * Perform other related duties as assigned * Maintain SharePoint, Teams, and CAWeb sites for Strategic Planning * Maintain and develop guidance and Standard Operating Procedures, trackers, and trainings for both programs * Analyze administrative processes for both programs, updating as necessary * Use data analytics tools and develop data visualizations as required * Provide technical guidance and assistance to lower-level staff on audit coordination and management controls * Maintain professional competence and specialized knowledge base by keeping abreast of emerging themes and best practices related to financial audits, internal controls, and enterprise risk management * Other duties as required by the team and/or assigned by CA/C leadership Travel Requirements 0 - 10% Salary Grade Job Requirements Requirements and Qualifications : * Associates Degree (preferred) and seven (7) years of experience * Excellent verbal and written skills * Must possess a customer service approach, to include but not limited to people-first attitude, problem-solving, and maintaining the highest standards of personal/professional ethics * Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (e.g., MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) * Maintain professional competence and specialized knowledge base by keeping abreast of emerging themes and best practices * Knowledge of and skill in applying analytical and evaluate techniques in order to plan, schedule, and conduct studies and analyses of management functions or programs * Knowledge of substantive programs, goals, pertinent laws, and policies in order to analyze and assemble information * Knowledge of management and organizational techniques, systems, and procedures to perform analytical studies * Desired Qualifications: * Department of State experience (preferred) * Must possess and maintain an Active Secret Security Clearance * Must be a U.S. citizen with a valid U.S. passport * Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 #CJ Category Other Location Washington, DC (DOS) State Annex 17 (SA-17) - Washington, DC 20520 US (Primary) Education Associate's Degree
