Help Duties * You will be responsible for total oversight of the utility systems to ensure electrical, natural gas, steam, potable water and wastewater services are available 24/7 to the installation(s) and tenant commands. * You will provide professional technical services related to utilities management, effective coordination with utility system operators and planning for utility system improvement projects. * You will independently investigate and implement methods to improve base utility systems. * You will review and interpret directives and special instructions from higher authority and develop and disseminate policies, regulations and procedures concerning utility system operations and management. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing long range plans for complex utility major maintenance projects and future development of utilities distribution systems; 2) Prioritizing/analyzing the recapitalization needs of the utilities systems based on age, condition, capacity and future utility requirements; 3) Making technical and managerial presentations for the organization; and 4) Applying technical knowledge related to facility engineering, utility systems and public works management. Some agility is required in walking around or over building materials, near utility system components, excavation sites and heavy equipment. Work Environment: The work is predominantly sedentary within an office setting with an occasional field or site visit. It may involve moderate risks or discomforts on a regular basis which may require special safety precautions, example visiting work job sites or hazardous test environments with machines, moving equipment and chemicals. Noise and/or vibrations may be present. The employee may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as hard hats, boots steel toe shoes, googles or gloves.
