Job Title: Software Developer
Location: Lexington, MA Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to support ongoing research projects related to air vehicle survivability in hostile environments. The role involves developing software tools for modeling threat sensors, detection/track processing, communications, tactics, and target engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, experience with physics-based simulations, and the ability to work in an onsite, classified environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement efficient application software. Research, design, and develop software applications and systems. Plan system development and deployment while ensuring software compliance standards. Evaluate and implement interfaces between hardware and software, operational requirements, cloud offerings, and security. Modify and enhance existing software programs to improve functionality and performance. Document testing procedures, client experience, and system maintenance. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security standards. Develop and conduct unit tests. Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Physics, Engineering, Applied Math, or Computer Science. Experience: 6+ years in software development. Clearance: Must hold an active Top Secret clearance. Programming Languages: Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, Python, and scripting languages such as Perl, Shell Scripting, and PowerShell. Software Development: Experience in object-oriented design, software architecture, and development. Cloud Platforms: Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS). Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in AWS FENCES environments. Hands-on experience with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling) for air-to-air and air-to-ground vignettes. Familiarity with undergraduate-level physics concepts (Mechanics and Electricity/Optics) and related mathematics. Proficiency in Linux and Windows administration, including virtual machines. Background in verification and validation of simulation models. Knowledge of data visualization tools and methodologies. Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to internal and external audiences. Experience in air defense sensor modeling, detection/tracking, command/control, or mission planning model development. Other Information: Work Location: 100% onsite due to the classified nature of the work. Travel: Estimated at 5% or less (domestic only). Interview Process: Initial and follow-up interviews will be conducted via Zoom. Candidates local to the area may be interviewed in person. We are looking for a motivated individual who can work both independently and collaboratively within a small team. The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and excel under limited guidance. Candidates with advanced degrees and relevant experience will be given preference.
