Help Duties * You will analyze accounting records to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. * You will advise managers on best practices for implementing accounting internal control procedures. * You will enter accounting data into financial management systems. * You will reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts to ensure that data and reports are balanced. * You will present accounting information to managers for use in decision making. * You will discuss accounting processes, functional requirements, and upcoming projects with business units within an organization. * You will draft accounting policy and regulatory interpretations to meet organizational needs. Qualifications FOR THE GS-11 GRADE LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Processing financial transactions and compiling financial statements for financial reporting; 2) Demonstrating the use of analytical tools in the review of accounting data; 3) Processing transactions and extracting data from automated, complex accounting systems, such as NAVY ERP; 4) Applying fiscal law and accounting processes and principles in the preparation of financial reports. This can include up to 6 hours of business law. OR A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination.
