Help Duties * You will be responsible for maintaining aviation/ground safety programs throughout Marine Corps Installations East (MCIEast). * You will advise and consult with management and safety personnel on the status of safety and occupational health programs and recommend changes to programs to meet new and existing safety and occupational health standards. * You will provide interpretation and guidance concerning the application of safety regulations, policies, procedures, and standards. * You will serve as the Aviation Safety Manager for MCIEAST and be principal advisor for aviation safety matters. * You will conduct regular surveys and inspections of aviation operations and assist subordinate commands in investigation of aircraft mishaps. * You will prepare and present aviation safety training and coordinate with aviation commands to ensure that all mandatory aircrew training is tracked and recorded. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, organizing, and scheduling a comprehensive ground safety inspection program to ensure conformance of safe practices, rules and regulations for detecting hazards, and determining corrective actions. * I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology OR
* I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology OR
* I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled OR
* I have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
