Duties * You will develop law enforcement programs, training schedules, personnel actions and operating plans for the MCPD. * You will review and evaluate staff actions for adherence to MCPD and installation/training policies. * You will formulate long-range operating plans based on assigned missions and functions, facilities, equipment, funding, and staffing requirements necessary for mission accomplishments. * You will prepare reports relating to criminal and civil security hazards, complaints, and witness statements for use in future legal proceedings and investigations as required. * You will be responsible for assigning work through subordinate supervisors and will be available to discuss problems and develop solutions. * You will coordinate with other law enforcement officials within regulations where applicable. * You will perform periodic and special statistical, financial, and productivity analysis and evaluations of short and long range requirements for the use of MCPD resources. * You will visit units/persons serviced and other law enforcement agencies in the area to discuss policy problems, solutions, and coordinate with operating officials of agencies. You must be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license. * Must meet medical standards for Police Officers in DoD 6055.05M and NMCPHC-TM-OM 6260. * May be required to respond to off base circumstances as directed by the installation commander, in accordance with USMC and DOD policy. * Must pass a sanctioned physical agility test and medical evaluation under the medical evaluation and pass periodic re-tests as required. * You will be required to pass all weapons qualifications tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all requalification's as required with assigned weapon. * Must satisfactorily pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) investigation * You must be able to read, write, and speak English. * You must carry firearms. * This is a Department of Navy drug testing designated position. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is subject to rotating shift work. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour recall and will maintain a 24-hour recall notification number and is required to respond per installation policy/SOP. May be subject to being interrupted from meal or other work breaks while on duty. Overtime may be required. Must be able to use all police equipment, certify in the use of radar detection and alcohol detection equipment, field sobriety tests, expandable or collapsible baton, and obtain other certifications required to accomplish the duties of a law enforcement officer. Must successfully complete a designated USMC Police Officers Course (BPOC and meet all certification requirements, to include weapons certifications, CPR, AED, DoD and Joint Training Regulations. As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, must be able to train and wear personal protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots, and gloves. If conducting law enforcement operations in navigable waters, you must attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program at FLETC or a similar course.
