SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) with Security Clearance

Duties * Serves as the Chief of Cyber Operations Branch and as a Senior Cyber Security Specialist for the Cyber Security Division, Northeast Regional (NER) Network Enterprise Center (NEC), Ft. Drum, NY. * Responsible for the Army Cyber Security Program and as Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) for all information technology (IT) assets under the purview of the NER NEC and those tenants connected to the local area network (LAN). * Provides advice and guidance concerning Cybersecurity matters to the NER NEC Director, Deputy Director, NER NEC Cybersecurity Division Chief and installation tenants supported by the NER NEC. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. * Three year trial/probationary period may be required. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, Critical Sensitive. * This is an Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program position. Incumbent (or Selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the certification/recertification for this position. * May be required to work outside normal duty hours to include evenings, weekends, or holidays and may be placed in an On-call status in support of related mission requirements. * Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on an infrequent basis up to 25% of the time to attend training, conferences, and other mission requirements. * Required to possess a valid state driver's license to operate a passenger vehicle for operating government vehicles. * This position is designated as an adverse weather position. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) Establishing and monitoring key risk indicators, as well as implementing corrective action plans to mitigate risks; 2) Disseminating and interpreting policy information and guidance concerning Cybersecurity systems; 3) Create policies, procedures and control assessments in response to identified risks; 4) Ensuring that Cybersecurity programs are in compliance with current policies. The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing work independently that rarely requires editing or review by others. (4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: identifying and solving problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives; recognizing and taking action to address non-routine problems; soliciting feedback from multiple stakeholders to understand an issue or problem and accurately assess its root causes and potential solutions; seeking supervisory review where appropriate.
