Duties This is a Direct Hire Public Notice, under this recruitment, applications will be accepted for each location and/or installation identified in this Public Notice and selections are made for vacancies as they occur. Typical work assignments may include the following: * Conduct studies for optimum office space use, office furniture reconfiguration planning, and acquisition planning to solve particular office furniture problems. * Develop procedures, techniques, and methods to resolve space problems in both government-owned and -leased facilities. * Provide oversight, management, and control of the Space Management Branch Government Purchase Card (GPC) Program. * Investigate administrative and technical situations and devises plans to adjust the needs of the operating agency to space availability to ensure the maximum utilization of space and economy and to promote efficient operations. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to assist or conduct with supervision the programming, planning, designing, evaluating, coordinating, advising, administering, or performing research for the creation, construction, alteration, rehabilitation, or restoration of building and facilities; provide input to DoD policies, procedures, and operating instructions for the effective and efficient utilization of space; and work with various building trades and modern construction management procedures; OR B. A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.M. degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position;ORC. A combination of education and experience as listed above. GS-12: You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if your resume and supporting documentation supports the following qualification requirements : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to manage overall programming, planning, designing, evaluating, coordinating, advising, administering, or performing research for the creation, construction, alteration, rehabilitation, or restoration of building and facilities; provide technical comments on DoD policies, procedures, and operating instructions for the effective and efficient utilization of space; or knowledge of work methods of various building trades and modern construction management procedures. There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 level.GS-13: You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if your resume and supporting documentation supports the following qualification requirements : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to lead teams or independently manage programming, planning, designing, evaluating, coordinating, advising, administering, or performing research for the creation, construction, alteration, rehabilitation, or restoration of building and facilities; implement specific DoD policies, procedures, and operating instructions for the effective and efficient utilization of space; knowledge of work methods of various building trades and modern construction management procedures. There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
