Duties This position is being filled under DoD Modified Direct Hire Authority, Section 1109; PL, 116-92, dated 12/20/2019. Position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. As a IT SPECIALIST (POLICY AND PLANNING/PLCYPLN) at the GG-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: * Supports transformation projects and mission area specific analytical process and tool development for JS interoperability initiatives with the Armed Forces (Services). * Serves as a catalyst for creative engineering/computer scientist analytical reasoning to integrate new technology capabilities and opportunities to develop more effective and responsive intelligence. * Supports planning of AI implementation and observing outcome of experiments. May serve as liaison with those who conduct experiments, attend meetings, participates in discussions for incumbent to make recommendations that will benefit the organization. * Represents the organization at technical forums as the JS J6 technical expert required and may lead a team(s) on special projects or studies of considerable scope and depth critical to the resolution of complex issues and problems. * Develops materials and makes presentations to Senior Leadership as required. Assures online warehousing of all related information, data, documentation, and decisions are well-organized and easily retrievable repository for historical purposes. Verify currency and accuracy of all related information. * Provides integrated and comprehensive process and organizational advice and assistance, both individually and in briefings. Determines areas in which consolidation would be beneficial, and presents recommendations to JS leadership. Qualifications You may qualify at the GG 14 , if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GG-13 grade level in the Federal service as listed below: * Applying principles, methods, and tools for the coordinated management of the Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning IT program, including oversight of multiple IT projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities. * Applying policy technical experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Data Science/data architecture/analysis/engineering, ZT (ICAM), DevSecOps, and Cloud computing. * Understanding the developments and new IT applications of information technology (hardware, software, telecommunications), emerging technologies and their applications to business processes, and applications and implementation of information systems to meet organizational requirements. * Utilizing research techniques to assemble, review, analyze, interpret, and effectively and concisely report relevant information, data sources, and data in the development of IT studies and projects. * Identifying and analyzing problems, applying sound reasoning to arrive at conclusions, finding alternative solutions to complex problems, and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical judgements Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
