Overview of position: FEDITC is seeking a Network Administrator II to work in Aurora, Colorado. A United States Citizenship and an active Public Trust Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position. Start date will be April 1, 2025 Responsibilities: Deploy and sustain new or existing information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks
Administers day-to-day sustainment, integrity, security and availability of the network, perform daily performance monitoring, capacity analysis, and maintain security posture of the network
Assist architecture and engineering with evaluation, making recommendations and testing of network hardware and software products
Creates standard operating procedures, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles, as required, to ensure proper documentation is established for the operational upkeep of the network
Performs network infrastructure maintenance upgrades to ensure a proper security and operational posture is maintained
Provide necessary on-site IT support or system administration for all servers, network equipment, operating systems, and applications on the supported networks at all sites coordinate the preparation and updates to documentation for the existing environment and document additions to the network through ITSM CM best practices
Provide Site support to assist with the Management of LAN and WAN
connectivity or assistance with Quality of Service (QoS) for applications such as streaming media, Video on Demand (VoD), Video over IP (VOIP), and other Government prioritized traffic as required
Provide support to all Internet Protocol Version 6 (Ipv6) implementation activities as directed by the Government Task Manager. The Government will furnish, where required, Ipv6 hardware and software and all non-labor associated items
Perform Scheduled Maintenance
Assist with or perform pre-scheduled maintenance using the appropriate MHS Change Control Board (CCB) or other DHA Enterprise Support Group approved change management SOP, as appropriate
Document all changes in the MHS ServiceNow ITSM tool for all supported networks, environments, and systems. Use the MHS ServiceNow ITSM to document and schedule all changes and downtimes. Maintenance may include all necessary and/or routine preventive or ad-hoc services required to maintain, sustain, or assist in maintaining and sustaining the network security postures and operational readiness for all JBSA supported sites
Perform Unscheduled maintenance in response to an IT service/system outage, degrade or other emergency, or as directed to mitigate a vulnerability to the security of the Managed IT environment. Replace defective/failed equipment, repairing IT infrastructure, or upgrading or patching HW/SW in support of failures or bug fixes
Help with call back support for after-hours incident/event for monitoring management, and support of all Government determined critical systems and service support to include required software upgrades, patches, and maintenance
Provide on-call engineering or other support teams, to assist with emergency escalation and response procedures
Assemble and deploy the engineering or other support teams in accordance with pre-approved support plans
Assist with proactive mitigation strategies to maintain optimal performance, improve operations, or correct operational issues before service to the customer is impacted
Be prepared to respond to all emergencies via on-call support, at the direction of DHA Enterprise Support groups
Make every reasonable attempt to postpone emergency maintenance requirements until after normal business hours (local to the site)
Coordinate and obtain approval of all emergency maintenance requirements by the Government Task Manager
Communicate Scheduled and Unscheduled IT maintenance and network outages to end users in a timely manner
Asist with daily operations, sustainment, maintenance, and IT management activities to include Syslog review, event log review, backup verification, and physical inspections of server rooms and equipment
Utilize DHA Enterprise Support Group/Government provided personnel to test patches, security updates for new deployments in a non-production environment prior to introducing any changes to the production environment
Provide input and support for mitigating vulnerability findings
Provide network security scans as required
Provide support with testing, and implementation on all supported IT projects and initiatives
Provide local on-site support, to assist with maintaining and/or monitoring DoD Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)/Common Access Card (CAC) requirements that are in place or scheduled for implementation
Provide on-site support to assist with the installation of performance monitoring or for all end user devices or other JBSA Site based IT systems and components using MECM, Splunk, Tanium, or other systems or application monitoring tools, software or devices as directed
Ensure alignment with the existing DHA Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)
Other support duties as needed/directed Experience/Skills: Must have 6 years of progressive experience and an in-depth understanding of the technical requirements and the ability, knowledge, experience, certifications, and skills to perform those requirements at task order start date
Must have equal or higher qualifications and experience
Must be able to speak, read, and write English Education: Must have a bachelors degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) OR Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist or Associate DCWF Code: 441 - Advanced
IAT II Clearance: Public Trust Clearance is required
Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check
